Cozy Cabin
The designs in our Cozy Cabin collection are for people who want a touch of the classics (think plaids, stripes, checkerboard) amidst strong dark colors blended with neutrals. Mountain vibes are the lead here with related motifs centered on woodland flora and fauna; river and stream themes and friends. This design style brings nature to you for a relaxed, comfy environment.
Coastal Calm
Move over coastal grandmother! Coastal calm designs take a nod from that microtrend by bringing in neutral designs with lots of muted and soft grays, blues, browns and greens. Ocean wildlife and seaside plants feature prominently in this design style filled with delicate yet casually elegant color details, but without the pops of pink and pastels that feature so prominently in the grandmillennial style. Sailor and seaside themes also appear here but in frequently two-toned designs, most often with a cream, white or tan background.
Wild Maximalism
Bold colors are for more than just your wardrobe. If you’re energized by lots of things happening at once, vividly expressing your personality and all things color, Wild Maximalism is for you! This design style lets your strong personality shimmer and shine with animal prints, large-scale florals and hues that bring a rush of energy with their dopamine decor energy.
Modern Minimalism
Look up the term minimalist, and you’ll see heaps of images and explanation about clutter-free spaces and clean lines. These Modern Minimalism designs take a similar approach, offering patterns that give clarity and a calm outlook to your bedroom. These designs are perfect for anyone wanting an elevated look that evokes natural simplicity and serenity.
Grandmillennial
If you’re ever feel like you’re older than you should be and want to put delicate flowers on everything, you might just be a Grandmillennial. This design style evokes 80s and 90s floral motifs featuring pastel blooms on a neutral or pastel background. To keep a more maximalist style at bay, color is often broken up by white or cream, and soft dreamy pastels abound.
Antiquarian
Antiquarian designs pull from history and echo motifs popular during the Arts & Crafts movement. These designs often feature small birds exploring dense flora, lush symmetrical blooms and saturated dark jewel tones, motifs perfect for a sleeping environment that looks lifted from a fairytale. For people who like bookshops, forgotten attics and beautiful ornate things, this design style is made for dreaming.

FYI
I designed and purchased a queen sheet set about a year ago. It was comparable in price to a high thread count sheet set. Unfortunately the product was not great as your printing process creates a rough texture that is very noticeable when putting your head on the pillow…. I was told to wash it multiple times and see if it improved. Not a lot of improvement so I would not consider spoonflower for a sheet set again. I think you should know this as it is a real issue. I use spoonflower for many projects but not a sheet set!
Hi Edie!
And thanks for sharing your experience. In order to better respond to you, I’ve reached out and got some guidance from our Customer Service team,
“We print everything digitally on large format printers that are not unlike desktop printers, using non-toxic, water-based pigmented inks. Because of the way we print our fabrics, fabrics printed with dark or solid color designs are often stiff after printing because more ink is required to create solid or almost darker color designs. You may find that fabrics printed with lighter colors or patterns print with a softer texture.
Because of this, we always suggest that customers wash their fabrics before use. Our fabrics will generally soften up considerably after being washed a few times. Using fabric softener when washing can also help to improve the texture of a fabric.
We recommend that you wash most of our fabrics in cold or warm water using phosphate-free detergent in very light loads for best results. You should expect to see slight fading upon first washing, but it should stabilize after that. Please find care instructions particular to each of our fabrics here: https://support.spoonflower.com/hc/en-us/articles/204444760-How-to-care-for-Spoonflower-fabrics.
Best,
