1. Cut out the individual pennants following the outline on the fabric. For an almost no-sew project, use pinking shears for the two long edges and a rotary blade or fabric scissors for the top portion.
2. Fold over the top of the pennant 1/2″ to make a pocket. Press with an iron.
3. Topstitch the fold in place, making sure to catch both layers of the fabric to secure the pocket for the string.
4. Repeat the above steps for your remaining letters.
Pro tip: After finishing your first pennant, start sewing the next pennant without cutting the thread, backstitching at the beginning and end of each pennant. This continuous method will streamline your sewing.
5. Once you’ve sewn all your letters, cut apart the string to separate the letters.
6. To determine how much string you’ll need to hang your pennants, set out your letters that way you’d like them to hang. This will also help prevent spelling errors while you’re stringing! Measure out your string based on the width of the layout and cut the embroidery thread or twine to this length.
7. String the thread through the pockets of your letters with an embroidery needle, corner turner or thin household object (straws work great!).
Once you’ve strung all your letters, hang your bunting and get ready to celebrate!

What kind of fabric did you use and where can I buy that? It’s pretty awesome because there’s already a print on it.
