From My Window | Entries due by March 23

Cat sitting in front of a window

What do you see out your window? Many of us have spent more time than usual in our own homes this past year and have become pretty familiar with our own surroundings. Let’s share our different perspectives!

What landscape, architecture, wildlife, weather or anything else in your immediate surroundings can you share from your neighborhood? Take some time to gaze out your favorite window and appreciate what is around you. Then get ready to “window shop” while voting as we get a peek into everyday life around the world!

Entries will be previewed on a 21″ x 18″ fat quarter. Submissions close March 23 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Voting begins March 25. Winners will be announced April 1. See official rules.

Spoonflower Break Room Wallpaper | Entries due by March 30

Spoonflower factory break room

Sit back and relax because it’s break time in the new Spoonflower factory! We recently moved our US factory into a 110,000 square foot space with seemingly endless blank walls. This week we are challenging you to design wallpaper with our two new break rooms in mind.

Artists can take inspiration from how employees use the space. “Spoonflower’s two break rooms are havens from the hustle and bustle of the factory, where the team can go to sit (safely distanced at the moment), recharge, and enjoy a delicious coffee, snack, or meal.” shares Holly Anderson-Earls, Vice President of Operations.  “The break spaces are the “home” spaces inside the factory, where fun artwork is posted on the fridges, food is abundant, and the atmosphere is relaxed.”

“The break rooms have always been a gathering place and they hold many happy memories for me!” adds Paula Atwood, Operations Manager. “The words I would associate with our break spaces are inviting, friendly, happy, restful and food-centric.”

Now that you have a better understanding of the space, don’t forget to also check out our top tips for creating large scale designs for wallpaper.

After the Spoonflower community votes on all the design entries, the top 10 will be voted on by Spoonflower employees to determine which two designs they’d love to unwind alongside during their break. The first and second place winners will both be used as wallpaper in the two factory breakrooms.

Entries will be previewed on a roll of Spoonflower wallpaper. Submissions close March 30 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Voting begins April 1. Winners will be announced April 8. See official rules.

Wild Grasses | Entries due by April 6

A sunny field with wild grass

We’re big fans of florals, but wild and native grasses take the spotlight this week! As we celebrate Earth Month in April, we honor these powerhouse plants as an eco-friendly addition to any garden.

Often overlooked in landscapes of bright blossoms and towering trees, wild grasses can offer texture and color to a scene along with incredible other benefits to an ecosystem. Wild grasses help with erosion control, are inviting to important pollinators while providing protection and create shelter to wildlife. We can’t wait to see how you turn this low maintenance and beautiful plant into a repeating pattern this week.

Entries will be previewed on a 21″ x 18″ fat quarter. Submissions close April 6 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Voting begins April 8. Winners will be announced April 15. See official rules.

Take some time away from the daily grind and space out! Gaze up into the stars and imagine an adventure that’s out of this world.

Blast off in your imaginary spaceship and explore the far off galaxies of comets, asteroids, planets and let the stars and your imagination be your guide as you encounter unidentified flying objects, space colonies and extraterrestrials. Get ready to leave Earth’s atmosphere behind for this week’s challenge.

Entries will be previewed on a 21″ x 18″ fat quarter. Submissions close April 13 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Voting begins April 15. Winners will be announced April 22. See official rules.

Saddle up and hit the trail with the diverse history of cowboys and cowgirls. Hats and spurs, bandanas and saddle blankets, vaqueros and saguaros, there are countless icons to draw inspiration from.
