Our hearts aren’t the only ones that have been stolen, either! The Spoonflower community has declared their otter-love for grand prize winner camcreative, who will be receiving a $200 Spoonflower credit for her design, From One Otter to Another. We’re equally enamored with second place (christinewitte) and third place (irenesilvino) winners who will be receiving $100 and $50 in Spoonflower credit, respectively. Calling all sweethearts! Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and Heidi Kenney, designer of all things cute and tasty, has created a chocolatey treat especially for you. Using just a fat quarter of Fleece, Heidi’s Valentine Chocolate Box Pillow design is perfect for your best friend or partner in crime, your mom and even your one and only true love (yourself, included!). Our favorite thing is that this chocolate box won’t melt or go bad—it’s meant to last as long as love itself. Follow along below with Heidi’s simple step-by-step tutorial and make your very own valentine plushie.
- One fat quarter of Heidi’s Valentine Chocolate Box Pillow on Fleece
- Sewing machine
- Coordinating thread
- Scissors and/or rotary cutter
Step One: Cut out both hearts and the long strip of red from your fleece fat quarter.
Remember when you were in elementary school and giving out a box of candy conversation hearts was the easiest way to express your admiration for your classmates? While the way we express our love (and taste buds!) may have changed, we can’t help but get that feeling of nostalgia when they make an appearance every Valentine’s Day. With some help from Spoonflower designer caja_design, we’re showing this popular sweet treat a little DIY love with a beginner-friendly garland using one of our no-sew friendly fabrics, Fleece! Keep reading to see the full how-to including step-by-step instructions for a blanket stitch.
