What do you get when you mix 40 wedding industry creatives, the most pristine camping set-up, 150 yards of fabric and two ambitious event planners looking to connect with industry peers in a relaxing setting? One year ago we might not have been able to provide the answer but thankfully, we now know you’ll get three unbelievably inspiring days at Camp Wed

All work and no play? Not at this retreat!

Created by Andrea VandeBerg & Sarah Sarbacker of Cherry Blossom Events with the assistance of Amy Johnson of One Fine Day Production, Camp Wed is a three-day retreat where wedding and creative industry leaders can fuel creativity and bolster their small businesses through hands-on workshops led by a playful group of camp counselors. But don’t be fooled, these camp counselors weren’t sharing the skills you might learn at your typical camp (although the art of s’more making was definitely on the brain). These counselors come from backgrounds of event planning, photography and goal digging and shared their experiences with eager campers.

We created Camp Wed to be a retreat that recharges wedding creatives at the end of the wedding season as that is exactly what we were looking to do for ourselves. Our goal is to create an environment that inspires campers both on a personal and business level. We want our campers to leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, inspired creatively, connected to their peers and focused on tangible goals heading into their next year of business. -Andrea and Sarah

Stepping onto the iconic grounds of Camp Wandawega nestled in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, campers and counselors took a step back in time. Just looking at the photos by Lexia Frank, it’s easy to see why leaving camp was harder than anyone could have ever predicted.

While at camp, you could find custom fabric sprinkled throughout the campgrounds. From sponsor signage to customized pillowcases and wallpaper swatches turned coloring books, Sarah and Andrea used their event planning experience to dream up creative details that took the Camp Wed experience to the next level.

Stepping into their cabins, campers were greeted by custom pillow cases designed by calligrapher Angela of Saffron Avenue and taraput’s Watercolor Diamond Chevron.

During the Welcome Dinner, campers were treated to a group dinner where the tablecloth became quite the conversation piece! Using Linen Cotton Canvas Ultra, Sarah and Andrea designed a silhouette table setting with a customized Camp Wed embellishment.

Once you’ve downloaded your favorite table setting version, upload to your Spoonflower account and order on your favorite table runner fabric. Keep in mind each file is 54″ wide x 24″ tall so we recommend a fabric that is at least 54″ wide. Our go-to fabric for table runners is Linen Cotton Canvas, just like our friends at Camp Wed! Bonus: These could make great hostess gifts when turned into placemats!

For a quick and easy DIY project, campers got creative with black and white woven wallpaper swatches turned coloring book pages.

We love designing personalized details for all of our events and getting to do so for our peers at Camp Wed is such a treat for us. Camp Wandawega is the perfect setting for all the magic to happen. – Sarah & Andrea
