I care so much about pretty much everything. The only things in life I’m lukewarm about are vegetables (except kale, kale is the worst), sports that are not football or basketball (love one, hate the other, you decide which is which), and ACDC. 12 Questions for Web Developer Ashley M.

Ashley Mason is a web developer on the Spoonflower team, who started out on the print team. She’s well known in the company for being a triple threat! Not only does she write code, she’s also a talented surface designer, (she always kills it in our staff design challenges) and has been selected to design a collection for a large Eco-Friendly fashion show. The first thing I want you to know about me is: I am an aspiring fashion designer! I had my first eco-conscious line debut on the Redress Raleigh runway last August, and in 2017 I’ll be working on translating my runway designs into digital patterns. I love making people look as fierce on the outside as they are on the inside.

My secret talent is: turning any boring chore or office task into a song.

Like many Spoonies, Leah started out cutting fabric on the Ops floor (four and a half years ago!), moved to the printing department, then ultimately made her way to the Engineering team, working on the Spoonflower website. Books, cats, and cross stitch are just a few of Leah’s favorite things. Get to know her a little more in our Q&A below!

The first thing I want you to know about me is: I love reading. I always keep a book with me so I can fill any free time with a few more pages.

My secret talent is: I remember where everything is currently located in my house. I forget lots of other things, but if you need to find the tape measure that you’ve misplaced for the hundredth time, I can find it.

The very first thing I do in the morning is: Pet my cat who has usually woken me up to remind me about the status of his food dish.

The last book I read is: Matilda by Roald Dahl.

The last song I listened to is: Pale September by Fiona Apple.

I take my coffee: Decaf, with cream.

I loooooove: Cats.

I’m really proud of: My weavings from Undergrad. The loom in my house is sadly neglected in favor of my current passion: cross stitching.

The podcast I never miss an episode of is: I haven’t kept up with the podcast trend, but if Jeopardy ever becomes a podcast I will definitely subscribe to that.

The first thing I want you to know about me is: I am an enormous New England Patriots fan, as I grew up in New England and spent many a summer afternoon hanging out at Patriots training camp (back when the team was…not as productive as it has been recently). Go ahead, boo all you want.
