The 1920s brought about the birth of the Jazz Age, iconic dance moves and the inspiration for this week’s Art Deco Large Scale Design Challenge. With streamlined symmetry and classic luxury in mind, designers went large scale as entries were previewed on one of Roostery’s newest products, the Wyandotte Duvet Cover. This flashy occasion calls for nothing short of a standing ovation for grand prize winner hannahshields, who will be receiving a $200 Spoonflower credit for her design, Deco Lace. Respect and admiration goes out to second place (lilalunis) and third place (wildnotions) winners who will be receiving $100 and $50 in Spoonflower credit, respectively. Turtles and tortoises, rabbits and hares—the whole gang has shown up for this week’s The Tortoise and the Hare Design Challenge. Announcing the Orchid & Navy Limited Color Palette Design Challenge Winners

This week’s Orchid and Navy Design Challenge had just one restriction: A limited color palette. With the playful medley of orchid, navy and burgundy color decided upon, designers were free to explore the theme and technique of their choosing. The results are a diverse array of repeating designs and motifs unified by whimsical color. We’re so impressed with what the community has come up with! If you’ve been trying to design more in 2018, why not set a goal of entering all four challenges this month? Can’t commit to all four weeks? That’s OK! Our monthly challenges are designed to encourage your creativity in a fun way that works with your busy schedule!

Sisterhood Around the World | Results Announced March 15

From the beginning, women have always played a vital role at Spoonflower. From the dedicated women on our team to the creative and ever-inspiring women in our community, there wouldn’t be a Spoonflower without women. On March 8 people all over the world will be honoring International Women’s Day and we invite our community to join the celebration during this week’s design challenge. From proudly marching with your sisters or showing support for those around you, we challenge you to create a repeating design honoring what sisterhood around the world means to you. This Coloring Book App Will Make Fabric Design a Breeze

The wait is finally over! We are so pleased to announce that the Spoonflower limited edition coloring book pack on Lake is now available. New to one of 2017’s Apple Design Award winners? Find out more about our favorite coloring app here.

The Spoonflower x Lake collaboration came to life through a special design challenge in October 2017 and the designer community did not disappoint. With nearly 400 entries in the Black & White Coloring Book challenge, the popularly voted top 25 designs were narrowed to 16 designs for the Spoonflower pack by the team at Lake.
