Pastel Halloween | Entries due by July 27

Pastel pink cutout of a haunted house with bats

Pretty pastels are the new black and orange! Take the path away from the classic Halloween color palette and explore a whimsical (yet, spooky) world of soft, subdued shades.

For this challenge we’re looking for fun Halloween themes explored through sweeter, non-traditional hues such as baby pink, dusty lavender or sky blue. From seafoam green witches, to cotton candy pumpkins, to rainbow candy corn—the pastel possibilities are endless.

Entries will be previewed on a 21″ x 18″ fat quarter. Submissions close July 27 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Voting begins July 29. Winners will be announced August 5. See official rules.

Phantasmagoria | Entries due by August 3

A figure walking into a dark forest

Have you ever had a strange vision in your sleep or a hallucination in a half awake state? You won’t believe your eyes this week as we explore the theatrics and drama of dreams with the Phantasmagoria (pronounced fan·taz·muh·gaw·ree·uh) challenge.

Escape reality and create your own fantasy world where the line between the real and imaginary are blurred. With Halloween right around the corner, the mood and color palette may skew dark and mysterious with rich dark color contrasted with jewel toned brights. Your imagery might include imagined monsters, odd illusions, or hazy scenes of the supernatural. Let your subconscious be your guide!

Entries will be previewed on a 21″ x 18″ fat quarter. Submissions close August 3 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Voting begins August 5. Winners will be announced August 12. See official rules.

Nocturnal Animals | Entries due by August 10

Baby possum hanging from a branch

As the sun sets and the air cools, we humans are winding down, but our favorite night-dwelling critters are just getting started. Which nocturnal animals can you spot through the dark?

Owls, possums, and foxes are only a few of the many nocturnal creatures you can include within your design. Will you catch fluttering bats in the evening sky? Or will you find a family of raccoons behind your trash can? We can’t wait to see who crawls their way into your creations!

Entries will be previewed on a 21″ x 18″ fat quarter. Submissions close August 10 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Voting begins August 12. Winners will be announced August 19. See official rules.

Neutral Geometric Wallpaper | Entries due by August 17

Grey geometric cube pattern

Find the perfect balance as your bold geometric shapes meet neutral color palettes to create unique wallpaper designs that are both adventurous and calming.

Armed with the visual vocabulary of precise angles and fluid curves, find a fresh take inspired by the beauty of the geometry that makes up everyday objects and architectures to create your repeating pattern. Then picture your design covering the walls of a space and find the perfect palette to create a tranquil escape. Think softer colors and earth tones, or explore the wide world of grey, black and white.

Entries will be previewed on a wallpaper roll. Submissions close August 17 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Voting begins August 19. Winners will be announced August 26. See official rules.
