Introducing the East Fork Design Challenge

APR 3, 2020

It’s no secret the Spoonflower team is smitten with the Asheville, North Carolina-based ceramic dinnerware company East Fork. We may be guilty of setting up decoy meetings on our calendars just to ensure we can place an order for a limited edition mug for our boss. But East Fork is so much more than just pottery and #themug

East Fork makes and sells a full range of beautiful, durable, ceramic dinnerware that celebrates and humanizes the people who make them and the people who use them. Their pottery is made with integrity in Asheville, North Carolina, from regional materials and the collection is unfussy and timeless—made to use every day and offered in a dynamic palette of year-round neutrals and fresh, seasonal colors.

Much like Spoonflower, East Fork uses their business as a platform for contributing towards a more joyful and equitable world, with kindness, compassion, and accountability driving their business choices. They build sincere, generous human relationships with each other, their customers, and their community.

These are just a few of the many reasons why we’re thrilled to introduce our design challenge partnership with East Fork. Get to know more about the challenge below!

East Fork Design Challenge | Entries due by April 28

East Fork Spring / Summer 2020 collection | Spoonflower Blog

Inspired by 5 a.m. surf sessions in Malibu and 6 p.m. bonfires on Dockweiler State Beach, the Spring/Summer 2020 East Fork collection was designed to bring a warming glow to your home and call attention to sunrises and sunsets of your own past and present. To help celebrate the launch of East Fork’s collection colors Malibu and Tequila Sunrise, we’re challenging the Spoonflower community to create a repeating pattern that perfectly pairs with this iconic ceramic dinnerware. But there’s a twist! Create your own color palette featuring at least one of the two collection colors listed below as the main color* in your design. As you get started on your design, remember to think about how someone might pair your design on a placemat or tea towel with their coveted East Fork mug or plate.

*Let the East Fork collection colors shine! At least 50-60% of your design should feature Malibu or Tequila Sunrise.
