Take a Trip to Spoonflower From the Comfort of Your Home

With millions of people working remotely during the novel coronavirus outbreak, video conferencing has taken on a whole new dimension. Here at Spoonflower, our office team is starting to miss the fun wallpaper in our conference rooms that celebrate the vibrant artist community that we support. To help combat the WFH-blues, we’re bringing the office to us (and you!) If you’ve ever wanted to spend a day at Spoonflower, now’s your chance! Follow these simple steps to create a Spoonflower office background during your next Zoom meeting or virtual sew-in.

Before getting started, make sure your version of Zoom supports the ability to change your background.

Step 1. Download a Spoonflower Office Background*

Welcome to Spoonflower! We’re so glad you’re here, even if it is from the comfort of your own home. Greet your meeting attendees from the Spoonflower Lobby and be sure to cozy up to the upholstered chair featuring rebecca_reck_art’s Swedish Folk Art Birds. From the Denim Bamboo Leaves wallpaper to the collection of throw pillows, you’ll find design inspiration everywhere you look. 

Preparing for a virtual sip-and-sew? We recommend venturing to the Spoonflower Greenhouse, where willowlanetextiles’ Banana Leaf wallpaper is the backdrop for local events we host, like the Katie Kortman Fabric Design Workshop. 

Need to get away from the family to take an important call? Might we suggest our Caribou Phone Room, with a view of artist scrummy’s Caribou Mountains. 

Before hopping into the Hive meeting room, be sure to grab your headphones because this room is always buzzing. We have a hunch that the mid-century mod chairs, floor-to-ceiling window and featured wallpaper, Bees – Green by scarlette_soleil, might have something to do with that! 

Now that you’re a well-traveled “Spoonie”, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and get to work. If you want to look really industrious in front of the boss, set their sights on our factory. We’ve already got the printer warmed up with Humble Bee Honey Bee Floral Flowers by magnoliacollection.

Step 2. Add Your Spoonflower Background to Zoom 

*For this tutorial we are using Zoom on our browser.

Open up Zoom and select Settings under your account preferences in the top right corner. 

Select the virtual background option and then choose the + symbol on the right side of your screen.

Choose the Spoonflower location you downloaded in step 1. Seeing your background mirrored on Zoom but don’t see the Mirror My Video option? Download the mirrored background image folder here!
