The first thing I want you to know about me is:
“Designing is the JOY of my life. I love creating new fabric designs!”
My secret talent is:
“Staying calm under pressure. I used to work as an art director in an advertising agency. Everyone’s hair was always on fire! It was an exciting and creative atmosphere; lots of running and changing direction at the last minute.”
The very first thing I do in the morning is:
“Take a shower at 5 am and drink coffee while watching ‘The Rachel Maddow Show’ recorded from the night before. I am very interested in politics and news. The morning is my most productive time of the day.”

The last thing I read was:
“The New Yorker Magazine, which I read every night before I go to bed. The articles are so interesting and so well-written, not to mention with some of the best editing around. It is a pleasure to enjoy, the very best!”
The podcast I never miss an episode of is:
“Malcolm Gladwell, Revisionist History. It makes me think.”
I loooooove:
“When someone purchases something I have designed.”

I’m really proud of:
“My daughter, Casey Louise. We laugh and have so much fun together! She is very funny.”
My favorite designers in the Marketplace are:
“There are so many talented designers on the Spoonflower website! A few of my favorites are muhlenkott, lavish_season and friztin.”

“I also wanted to give a shout-out to my coworker, Timothy Cohen, who is the talented menswear designer and sole creator behind Perspectus Clothing. Tim’s unique take on men’s fashion is evident in the designs he creates which are often inspired by natural patterns found within the earth’s landscape. Not only does Tim design his own fabric (printed at Spoonflower, of course!), he designs the clothing patterns and sews all of the one-of-a-kind pieces in his collection. If that doesn’t blow your socks off, he’s also a natural in front of the screen. You may recognize Tim in some of Spoonflower’s tutorials, such as this DIY Fat Quarter Baby Tee!”

The last song I listened to was:
‘For What It’s Worth‘ by Buffalo Springfield. This song fuels my rebellious streak.”
You’ll never hear me say:
“It can’t be done.” I am an eternal optimist.”
My favorite type of fabric is:
“Lightweight Cotton Twill, it’s the perfect weight and is so bright and white.”
Barbara as a child. “Our parents dressed us up in sailor outfits to visit the USS constitution in Mystic Seaport, Connecticut, on our way to summer vacation in Maine. I think this fuels my love for all things nautical.”
