Solar Eclipse | Results Announced August 3

Solar Eclipse design challenge entries are due by July 25 | Spoonflower Blog

Mark your calendars! On August 21, our friends in the US will have the opportunity to witness what is being called the Great American Total Solar Eclipse. Moon gazers from all over the US (even the world!) will be making a trip to Spoonflower’s headquartered state of North Carolina and neighboring South Carolina to see the spectacular moon phase for themselves. While the eclipse may only last for a few minutes, a fabric design celebrating this “once in a blue moon” event will last forever! Entries will be previewed at the fat quarter size: 21″ x 18.”  Submissions close July 25, 2017 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Voting begins July 27, 2017.  See official rules.

Community Choice: Swedish Folk Art | Results Announced August 17

Swedish Folk Art design challenge entries are due by August 8 | Spoonflower BlogFor this week’s challenge, we’re reversing the roles and letting our community (you!) choose the design challenge theme! In July, we received over 250 challenge themes submitted via social media and took to the blog for a round of voting to find this week’s community chosen theme: Swedish Folk Art. Inspired by fables and allegories and depicted through repeating geometric shapes, this type of art was created to bring pleasure to everyday tasks. Entries will be previewed at the fat quarter size: 21″ x 18.” Submissions close August 8, 2017 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Voting begins August 10, 2017. See official rules.

Memphis Style | Results Announced August 31

Memphis Style design challenge entries are due by August 22 | Spoonflower Blog

The Memphis style was characterized by ephemeral design featuring colorful decoration and asymmetrical shapes. While not loved by many when it was first introduced in 1980, it quickly grew in popularity during the ‘90s. Squiggly lines, graphic patterns, and bold colors are just a few ways to create the signature Memphis style. Show us how you interpret this bold style with a Memphis inspired design. Entries will be previewed at the fat quarter size: 21″ x 18.”  Submissions close August 22, 2017 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Voting begins August 24, 2017. See official rules.
