What’s the perfect no-sew project for cold weather AND tailgating? Double sided fleece blankets. This beginner level project can be made in under 30 minutes using 2 yards of Spoonflower’s Fleece and a pair of scissors. (As of March 2023, we are phasing out our Fleece fabric and launching Polartec® Fleece, which will also work great for this project!) Personalize your blanket to your teams’ colors from our Marketplace featuring thousands of designs or design your own, and get cuddled up this season.

For our blanket, we decided to use this geometric design by classycassie to show our team spirit (any Seahawks fans out there?)

Step 1: Stack 2 yards of fleece, wrong sides facing

Step 3: Cut 1″ x 3″ strips across the short side of the fabrics.

continue cutting across the entire short side. Repeat across the opposite short side of the fabric.

Step 4: With scissors, snip a small hole at the top center of each strip

how to make a no-sew fleece blanket
don’t make the hole too large or there will be gapping when you pull the strips through the hole

8

Step 5: Strip by strip, bring both layers of fabric through from the bottom of the hole. Repeat on the opposite side.

9

Step 6: Repeat the above steps for the long sides of the blanket.

Step 7: Oh wait… that’s it? The blanket’s done? Dang! That was easy.

A one-sided blanket more your style? We’ve got a tutorial for that, too!
