Today we’re very excited to announce the arrival of a brand new fabric in the Spoonflower family, which we’re calling Performance Knit. Starting today, you’ll find the new fabric available in the drop-down list whenever you order from our site.
The Performance Knit is a completely new type of material that’s quite different from any of our current fabric choices. The hand and drape is lovely, and you’ll find that the printed color is brighter and richer than any other fabric we’ve ever offered. This 100% polyester also has wicking and performance qualities that make it terrific for apparel, and it holds up to repeated washing without the least bit of fading. Current customers should note that this new knit is not as stretchy as the organic interlock knit offering. There are a few other notable qualities of the Performance Knit — it does not wrinkle much after being washed, but also doesn’t easly hold a crease when you’re sewing with it. A little later today, look for a tutorial that includes some sewing tips specific to the new fabric.
Awesome! One thing, though – the site says I can get a free swatch until Sept.5 with the code PKSWATCH, but when I type that into the offer code area in the shopping cart and press “Apply”, nothing happens. I am using a PC & I’ve tried it with Firefox AND Chrome (with all the extensions disabled). I’d really like the new swatch, let me know what I can do! Thanks!
MOF – did you add the swatch to your cart first? and make sure it’s a swatch and not a FQ? and make sure you added the p.k. not the basic cotton? (I made the 2nd mistake the first time – but it worked when I added a swatch of performance knit! ;o)
MOF, we just checked the Spoonflower account registered to your email address and do not see a performance knit swatch in your shopping cart. Are you sure you added a swatch (of the correct fabric) to your cart?
I just now tried to apply the PKSWATCH code to a performance knit swatch I wanted to sample and got “I’m sorry, there is no offer with offer code PKSWATCH. If you think this is in error, please contact us at help@spoonflower.com ” Should I wait and try again tomorrow?

Jan, not sure what the problem was, but we just went into your account and applied the swatch to your pending order. It seemed to work fine when we did it, so you should be able to go ahead and check out now with the free swatch and the additional yard that's currently in your cart. Sorry for the difficulty!

Hmmm…I added a swatch to my cart (of the spoonflower color map), tried to apply the code and I’m getting the same error.
I’m having the same issue as they are. Is there something else I can do on my end?
You might try ordering a swatch of another color chart, like this one:

Agh! I just got the email about this new fabric today and I sooo wish I’d known about it earlier. Have a trip to a very hot and humid place coming up soon and would have loved to make something forgiving to wear that could also be washed up in the sink and hung to drive overnight. Would be fun to play with it for another trip, though. 🙂
I’m having the same issue as Jan, I have a swatch in my cart and it is performance knit but when I enter the code I get the same message.
I’m also having the same difficulty… I added a swatch of the performance knit to my cart and it says “Sorry, there is no offer with offer code PKSWATCH”. I’m guessing it’s too late in the night for this to be seen in time since the offer ends tomorrow at noon, but it’d be nice to be able to get a swatch! I have a couple friends who would like a swatch as well
I also encountered the error when applying the code to the performance knit swatch… Hope this gets fixed before the promotion ends!
I’m having the same problem. It says that the offer code does not exist. The offer goes until noon tomorrow, right? I entered “PKSWATCH” and I selected performance knit and swatch.
