Digital Fabric Design on Project Runway tonight

Fans of the television program Project Runway take note: tonight's episode apparently has the contestants designing and printing their own fabrics using a digital textile printer. Exciting!

Kim and I actually had to upgrade our cable package yesterday so we'll be able to watch the show, which airs on Lifetime. Maybe we'll see some of these designs on Spoonflower soon.

Spoonflower in black and white

We posted about this on Twitter & Facebook last week, but failed to take note on our blog - Tina Firesheets of The Greensboro News & Record recently penned a very nice account of the Spoonflower story: Spoonflower: A Blossoming Business. It's been republished once or twice in other places. Most impressive -- to us, at any rate -- were the very large photos that appeared on the front page of the paper. Free Swatch Day Is Over

Thanks everyone for tweeting and blogging and bragging about Free Swatch Day high and low. Turnout was amazing. We're exhausted. And we raised $1000 for Heifer.org. Pretty darn cool.

Free Swatch Day Today

Just in case you missed the hullabaloo yesterday when we announced that Free Swatch Day would take place on Thursday [thus befuddling the 50% of the population who get halfway through the week and manage to convince themselves that it is already Thursday... me being one of them], today really is Free Swatch Day on Spoonflower. That means that up until 11:59 pm Eastern Time you'll be able to get up to two free swatches on our site just by adding them to your cart. All the details are HERE. [Note to folks outside of the US: Eastern Time is the same as New York.] We're also using this as an excuse to harness a little of the power of our amazing community of crafty peeps to raise money for a terrific organization called Heifer International. We'll keep you posted here on how much money we raise, but let me just say now that we're hoping at least to come up with enough to buy a couple of llamas.
