Quilters Take Manhattan tickets giveaway

QTM2012logo_800wide
Surprise!  We have a quick giveaway today for our peeps in the Northeast--or for anyone willing and able to get themselves to NYC this Saturday, September 15.  Courtesy of our friends at the nonprofit Quilt Alliance, we have 2 free tickets to give away to the biggest quilt event in New York City this fall, Quilters Take Manhattan.  If you'd like to win, just leave your comment here or on the corresponding Facebook post, and do include your Spoonflower screen name or some other means of contacting you in case you're the winner.  Since this event is coming up so soon, this giveaway will be open only briefly--comment before tomorrow, 9/12/12, at noon EST to be entered into the drawing!  We'll announce the one lucky winner of both tickets on Wednesday, 9/12.

The Quilt Alliance is an organization dedicated to documenting, preserving and sharing the rich history of quilts and their makers, and this event is their second annual.  Quilters Take Manhattan will take place on Saturday, September 15 from 1-5 pm at FIT in the heart of the NYC fashion district. Denyse Schmidt will be interviewed by Mark Lipinski for the Alliance’s oral history project, Quilters’ S.O.S. – Save Our Stories. Next, Jennifer Chiaverini will talk about the newest book in her Elm Creek Quilts series, The Giving Quilt, and then will take questions from the audience. Attendees will see quilts from both Denyse and Jennifer, and can also preview the 2012 Alliance contest quilts (up for auction in November).

There will be tasty beverages and a sweets buffet to keep your energy up, a lively silent auction, and overflowing goody bags to showcase a diverse group of sponsors (including Spoonflower!) who are committed to preserving the history of this amazing community.

Enter quick, y'all, and good luck!
