Liesl Gibson DVD giveaway
My New Year's resolution for two years running has been to upgrade my garment-sewing skills. In poking around online for relevant tutorials, I discovered that Liesl Gibson, founder and chief designer of Oliver + S and designer of Simplicity's new Lisette line of adult clothing patterns, has put together two instructional DVD's. Am I the only person who didn't know about these? Liesl has a reputation for designing clothing patterns that are classic, well-drafted, and which use meticulous finishing techniques. The result is garments that are simple and beautiful, not overblown and overly embellished. I watched the preview for the Apparel Sewing Basics video this morning and have already learned something I didn't know!
If you'd like to own the Apparel Sewing Basics DVD yourself, just leave a comment on this post or on the corresponding Facebook post that includes your Spoonflower screen name. We'll also throw in three yards of the Spoonflower fabric of your choice in case your fabric stash is looking too puny for a clothing item. As always, we love to hear what you're sewing, so please feel free to tell us what clothing projects you plan to work on, need pointers for, or are just dreaming about making. Entries for this giveaway close at 7 pm EST next Tuesday, 1/17, and we'll announce a winner on Wednesday, 1/18. Good luck! This giveaway is now closed, and we'll announce a winner shortly.
Thanks to all of you who entered last week's giveaway drawing for Betty Oppenheimer's book, Sew and Stow. The winner was Spoonflower Facebook fan Lisa Thomas--congratulations, Lisa!
