Project Selvage Semi-Finalists: Vote for the designers who will go on to the top ten!

The winner of the Project Selvage competition will go on to realize the dream of becoming a professional fabric designer whose work can be found in shops all over the world. From 968 entries, the Project Selvage judges have narrowed down the field to 75 semi-finalists. The rest is up to you.

Vote for designs you'd like to see on fabric to be used in projects for baby boys. Next week we'll take the top ten designers and ask them each to design an entire collection.

Bora's 6th win! Check out the winner of our map fabric contest

In a close race, Dutch designer Deborah van de Leijgraaf wins her sixth Fabric Of the Week contest with the terrific map design "En route to 'bora town'". I'm starting to lose track of how many times Bora, SammyK and Cean Irminger have won our contests, which is a sure sign that the three of them have moved into their own category. If our contest was a tv show, they would all have become judges by now.

The theme of our weekly fabric design contest this time around is maps. Here's the design brief we provided:

You should submit a fabric design -- ie, a motif that repeats well over a variable expanse of fabric -- that uses a map or maps or is inspired by maps. Please don't scan or copy existing maps for this contest (although creative use of permissable public domain materials might be considered ok in original designs).

The designer known as Vo wins her third Fabric Of the Week contest with "Sure and begorrah, it's leprechaun laundry day," the winning fabric in our Leprechaun-themed competition. Vo's previous wins were in the Woodland Creatures and Desert contests. Elegant Elephant Paisley: Bora wins another fabric design contest!

Dutch illustrator Deborah van de Leijgraaf (Bora) wins her fifth Fabric Of the Week contest with a charming spin on our paisley design challenge: "Fun bathtime for little Elley".

Breakfast Is the Most Important Fabric of the Day, Er... Week

Congratulations this week go to the talented (and prolific) Nadja Petremand of Lille, France.
