Cheater Quilt. A cheater quilt is a single piece of fabric printed to give the effect of a being coCheater quilt by the fabulous Amy Karol of Angry Chickenmposed of different fabrics. When you add batting and backing, and then quilt the material you can achieve the effect of a real quilt. This contest is for a cheater quilt pattern that fits onto a single yard of fabric: 42" x 36". You can also design it to be square (36" x 36") and then center the design. Deadline is Tuesday, June 29, 2010.

Travel. Summer vacationing? Submit fabric designs with travel as a theme: planes, trains, cars, campers, bicycles, etc. Designs will be previewed for voting at a fat quarter size (21" x 18"). Deadline is Tuesday, July 6, 2010.

Summer Flowers (palette-restricted). Create a fabric design using summer flowers as Summer-flowers fabric contest palette on Colourlovers a design motif and using only the colors visible in the palette at the right.  Hex codes are as follows: Yellow - FFE61A,  Blue - AAC2DC, Bee balm - E0B4E6, Lavender - AB7DB0, Hydrangea - 77B5D4. Note: to avoid confusion about the palette you use it's probably best to upload RGB rather than LAB files, which display colors differently in web browsers. You may use white and black in your design if you wish, but do not use blends or varying transparencies of the colors. Designs will be previewed for voting at a fat quarter size (21" x 18"). Deadline is Tuesday, July 13, 2010.

Paper Collage. Use bits of paper -- yes, real paper! -- to create a collage that you can scan and turn into a fabric design. As with our other contests of this sort, the emphasis here is on artwork made by hand with minimal digital manipulation. You can digitally create your repeats, but the idea is to do as much by hand as possible. Designs will be previewed for voting at a fat quarter size (21" x 18"). Deadline is Tuesday, July 20, 2010.
